Introduction to Little Mozarts Age 3 (must be born before 9/1/16) and Dancin' Fun Ages 4 - 6 Does your child enjoy playing on grandma's piano or trying out a tune on a sibling's keyboard? This class encourages that curiosity and is a perfect introduction to the piano for preschool children. The classes are specially designed to be age-appropriate, fun and engaging. Class sizes are kept small so that students receive maximum attention from one of our highly trained piano instructors. In this four-session Zoom class, young students will be gently introduced to the piano through songs, games, and other activities. Students will cover high and low sounds, loud and soft sounds, moving up and down the keyboard, and finger numbers. Meetings twice per week will include singing, dancing and piano activities, as well as a chance for parents to ask questions. Students will be asked to complete short workbook and comprehension exercises between meetings and submit them via our Google classroom for individualized feedback. Meeting times will be the same as those listed in the catalog for in-person classes, however, because of their virtual nature, will be 20 minutes in length rather than 30. Parents are encouraged to use the remaining 10 minutes working independently with their child to complete workbook and comprehension exercises. Camp kit includes Music for Little Mozarts Workbook 1, crayons, themed plush toys and a t-shirt. Students should have their own keyboard or piano, or regular access to one of these. Because of the short introductory nature of this class, there will not be a final performance showcase. Parents are encouraged to register their child for the Fall year-long Little Mozarts Class if their child continues to show curiosity toward the piano! If your young child can't stop moving and dancing around the house, this exciting dance extravaganza is an ideal way to focus their energy. Van Andel Museum Center has 80,000 square feet of permanent exhibits space and is capable of hosting major traveling exhibitions each year in a 9,500 square foot changing exhibit gallery. The building's design on the east, or river side, employs natural light as a major architectural element, while on the west side the exhibit galleries are windowless, to protect Museum collections and exhibitions from the long-term degradation of sunlight. The large windows on the east frame the historic Grand River and bring bright natural light into the Galleria and cafe during the day. Falcon Camp has been widely recognized throughout the Midwest as Ohio's premier summer camp since 1959. Falcon has been selected as one the best camps in the USA by different independent sources and as the "coolest camp in Ohio". Falcon offers a beautiful lakefront setting, a talented experienced staff and an extensive variety of activities. "Fun for Now, Skills for Life" is not just a catchy logo but truly defines what you accomplish at Falcon. Designed for boys and girls ages 6 - 16 in 2, 4, 6 or 8 week sessions, campers choose their own schedule every day within a general framework. Daily activities are gender separate with planned coed events. Riding, sailing, riflery, crafts, tennis, drama, archery, mountain bikes and so many more activities to choose from! Instruction from beginner to advanced is offered in each activity. We have a strong reputation for making sure a camper's first overnight experience is very positive. Our non-competitive environment is inviting to campers who may be hesitant to try something they have never done before, while our awards system challenges our most experienced campers. The 1:3 staff/camper ratio allows individual instruction and attention. Most of all it's GREAT FUN! Falcon also has a special 'Young Adventure' one week intro program for campers ages 6 -10. This program for younger campers is specially designed with more structure and 'parental' oversight. Falcon is ACA accredited with references from campers all over Ohio, PA and WVA, throughout the United States and around the world. Falcon campers are safe, healthy and happy as they try new activities, make life long friends and grow in responsible ways. A summer at Falcon is a special experience where good things happen by design. (less) ... Read more
