Yesterday, our family had the opportunity to experience the Saladin Shrine Circus at the Deltaplex in Grand Rapids. It was amazing!
The show immediately sucked me into all the excitement - starting with a camel ride!!
The show not only held my attention, it had me laughing, holding my breadth, whispering in my daughter's ears that "anything is possible," and telling my husband that I need extra eyeballs just to keep up with all the performers in the three different rings. You surely didn't want to blink and I was so glad we didn't have to get up for a restroom break, because you truly don't want to miss anything.
Everything about this show impressed me. Granted, the rides and souvenirs were expensive, but what show/event items aren't? The circus was 2 1/2 hours long. That alone is impressive. There was a 1/2 hour intermission, but everything started right on time and ended exactly at 4:30pm. The crew was friendly and so fast with set up and take down, my kids were calling them magicians! There was absolutely no waiting time. When one act finished, another one was ready to start.
I snapped plenty of pictures, but I was kicking myself for not videotaping more. It was hard to pick a favorite act. The trapeze artists, the motorcyclists, the animals, the clowns, the jugglers, the Barbie Sisters, they were all awesome!
The Saladin Shrine Circus makes for a great family outing - I totally recommend it for all ages. Thank you Us Family Guide and Saladin Shrine Circus for the tickets and the awesome experience.
